ADHD & Comorbidity (Specialism)
For the fast, tired mind that's been fighting itself
This is the heart of my practice: ADHD and anxiety together, in capable, high-achieving people who've spent years pushing against a brain that works differently. If you're bright, driven, exhausted, and carrying more shame than anyone realises — you're exactly who I built this for.

ADHD is a difference in how the brain manages attention, motivation, and regulation — not a deficit of effort or intelligence. It rarely travels alone. Anxiety, low mood, perfectionism, and low self-esteem often build up over years of a mind and a world being out of sync. Treating them as connected, rather than as separate problems, is where real change happens.
-
Attention that scatters, then locks onto the wrong thing for hours
Starting fast and stalling — projects, tasks, intentions half-finished
Anxiety and overwhelm that ramp up as demands pile on
Time blindness, forgetfulness, and a full mental "open tabs" load
Achieving a lot on the outside while running ragged inside
Years of shame from being told to just try harder

Standard advice built for neurotypical brains often makes things worse. The CBT here is neuroaffirming: we work with how your mind functions rather than against it. You'll learn to unhook from the fight with your own thoughts and act from your values even on a scattered day, and to quiet the anxious over-thinking that piles on top. Alongside these skills, we build executive-function scaffolding — structure that fits how you actually operate — and, just as importantly, permission to stop treating your brain as broken. This is modern, process-based CBT applied to how ADHD really shows up.

Sessions are practical, strategic, and free of jargon or shame. We address the ADHD and the anxiety (or low mood, or perfectionism) together, because that's how they show up. This is the comorbidity work I specialise in, with 18+ years of clinical experience behind it. Online, across New Zealand.
